Wholistic Healing: Body, Emotions, Mind, Relationships, and Spirit
Healing is an inside job. Dr. Benor will show you how you can open yourself to your full healing potentials, perceiving and relating to the world in refreshing ways. "Healing" comes from Old English/ Germanic roots which mean "to make whole." You can activate vast inner resources you might not even be aware that you have - to invite wholeness into your life on all levels of your being:
- Become a "respant" (responsible participant) in dealing with your health issues.
- Harmonize your body with medical treatments so that they are more successful
- Reduce side effects of medications
- Handle stresses with less medication
Daniel Benor, M.D. is a wholistic psychiatrist who integrates many ways of healing with psychotherapy. He is Editor of the International Journal of Healing and Caring - On line, a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holisitc Medicine and author of Healing Research, Volumes I-IV.

Love is a Potent Healing Force
Unconditionally accepting love is transformative. Knowing you are totally loved on every level of your being - positive, negative , and indifferent - is a healing experience. Reaching out to others to show that they are accepted and loved is healing for them and for you.
Daniel Benor, M.D. is a psychiatrist who introduces spiritual awareness and healing in his practice of psychotherapy, along with many other healing techniques. He is Editor of the International Journal of Healing and Caring - On line, a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holisitc Medicine and author of Healing Research, Volumes I-IV. He will review research showing that love can transform disease and dis-ease. Dr. Benor will show you how you can invite more healing love into your life, and will include experiential components in this lecture.

Spiritual Healing Combined with Psychotherapy
As a wholistic psychiatrist I find that the combination of spiritual healing with psychotherapy is far more effective than either treatment alone. Psychotherapy may raise issues that are hard to deal with. Healing can lessen anxieties and painful emotions surrounding such issues. Conversely, healing can bring about spontaneous emotional releases of long-buried traumas -- helping them surface much more rapidly and effortlessly than with psychotherapy alone. Psychotherapy helps to integrate these emotions, along with their associated traumatic memories, and to develop better ways of coping with stress. Return to top of page
Spiritual Awareness and Healing
Most of us have had intuitive and spiritual awarenesses of something far vaster and wiser than ourselves. We may call it God, Christ or simply feel it as an Infinite Source of energy, love, or all-knowing, unconditionally accepting consciousness. This awareness might come to you during prayer or meditation, through communing with nature, in moments of ecstasy or of pain and dire distress. Words are inadequate to describe this "vast something."
He will suggest various ways to invite more spiritual awareness into your life.

Clearing the Vessel through which Healing Pours
Daniel Benor, MD will discuss some of the many ways in which spiritual awareness and healing are manifested into consciousness and being. Experiential exercises will be introduced for developing spiritual awareness and for clearing the vessel of the caregiver so that healing may flow more clearly and cleanly as and where it should. These approaches are also good for helping careseekes to clear their own vessels. Return to top of page
Self-Healing: Dealing with Stress and Distress
Rapid, potent, highly effective methods for dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders, anxieties, fears, and self-doubts.
This experiential lecture will introduce a variety of wholistic energy medicine interventions that can broaden and deepen the range of efficacy of your therapy. These will include elements from the Wholistic Hybrid of EMDR and EFT (WHEE), bodymind therapy, imagery, mental judo, spiritual awareness and healing.
Healing and Self-Healing
Healing through touch, light touch and through focused intent/ meditation/ prayer can be a helpful complement to treating many physical and psychological problems. Research shows that these forms of healing can help people with arthritis, cardiovascular problems, hypertension, AIDS, pain, and stress. Research showing significant effects in animals (with tumors and other diseases), plants, bacteria, yeasts, and enzymes suggests many further ways in which healing can help.
Self-healing through a variety of techniques is also possible.
Daniel Benor, MD, a wholistic psychiatrist, will review the science and art of integrating healing with conventional medical practice. He is Editor of the International Journal of Healing and Caring - On line, a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holisitc Medicine and author of Healing Research, Volumes I-IV. Integrating Healing with Medical Practice
Members of the public are increasingly turning to healing for help with problems for which conventional medicine has only partially successful treatments. An estimated 40,000 nurses practice Therapeutic Touch in America. Hundreds of thousands of healers offer Reiki healing internationally.
Clinical research confirms that these healing practices are helpful in treating physical problems and can relieve pain, anxiety, and depression. I briefly summarize this research and consider in greater detail many ways in which healing can be combined with conventional medicinal and nursing practice to improve health care.
I lived for ten years in England, where healers are invited by doctors to treat patients in clinics and hospitals, where some healers are paid under the National Health Service, and where I led workshops for doctors who received the equivalent of CME credits for developing their own healing gifts.

Stress Prevention and Treatment I: Relaxation, Imagery, and Meditation
A human being is a vessel that can hold just so much stress before it spills over into irritability, poor concentration, anger outbursts, and depression. De-stressing can prevent work errors, over-reaction, poor decisions, and regrettable mistakes. De-stressing can also improve health and job performance -- both physical and psychological.
Dr. Benor has taught methods of de-stressing for 20 years. This presentation will be experiential-including easily learned, potent exercises that participants can use immediately.
Stress Prevention and Treatment II: Releasing Traumatic Experiences
Traumatic experiences may leave psychological scars of tensions, irritability, temper outbursts, difficulties sleeping, and depression, and may lead to difficulties getting along with family and people on the job. I will introduce new methods that rapidly release psychological scars from traumas and leave you free to approach each day and each situation with a clean slate. These methods are helpful to people in high stress jobs. They are also enormously helpful to victims of crimes, assaults, and abuse. This presentation will be experiential -- including easily learned, potent exercises that participants can use immediately. Return to top of page

Developing Intuitive Awareness
Most of us have had intuitive flashes, knowing something with certainty and without ordinary ways of discovering these facts. We can learn to develop this ability. Intuition can improve our health, can enhance our relationships, can guide us towards success, can warn us of danger, and much more.
Daniel Benor, M.D. is a psychiatrist who has learned to use his intuitive gifts in his practice of psychotherapy. He is Editor of the International Journal of Healing and Caring - On line and a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holisitc Medicine
