This is not a workshop just to learn methods. Most importantly, it is for learning how to discover what works best for you as the unique person you are.
This transformational process will invite you to view from various new perspectives the universe that you seem to know so well. You will connect more strongly with your own light, to more clearly your interactions in the world within you and around you.
While working on raising your level of awareness, you acquire the tools needed to engage actively in the process of re-creating your life. Through the process of becoming ever more conscious about yourself and the world you live in, you create the opportunity to experience your own true essence and to speak your truth.
Many unconscious assumptions, programmed into your "automatic pilot" when you were a child, are misleading and can obscure your authentic self. These misperceptions and misconceptions about yourself can even be dangerous to your health because they blind you to what is really happening. You will learn to identify such aspects of your life that drain your energy, and how to stop self-sabotaging behaviours so you can allow yourself to be the best person you can be.
You will acquire insights that allow you to respond from your heart, from a place of balance rather than reacting from your head alone or from conditioned behaviour patterns.

CLEARING THE VESSEL THROUGH WHICH HEALING POURS Experiential workshop Albuquerque, NM, April 28, 2004 American Holistic Medical Association, 27th Annual Conference, "The Soul of Medicine" www.holisticmedicine.org
The soul of medicine resides in the physician who is the caregiver - nurturing, supporting and (where necessary) gently supplementing the natural healing capabilities of the careseeker. Medical training prepares physicians with a wealth of knowledge about the most limited aspect of this process.
This workshop is about restoring the soul to the caregiver and careseeker and to their individual and mutual journeys towards greater health and healing.
This experiential workshop will introduce methods that harness bioenergies, intuition, love and spiritual awareness, adding healing intent and imagery to transform and eliminate psychological scars along with physical pains, allergies and other symptoms. These methods have helped people with pains of every description and origin (e.g. arthritis, migraines, fibromyalgia, IBS), allergies, depression, addictions, obesity and more.
Distracting yourself to avoid thinking about your pains leaves them to fester. Fighting your problems and pains actually gives them energy and will strengthen and perpetuate them. Engaging them through the exercises you will learn in this workshop will help you appreciate that healing and love really can conquer many (if not all) problems. These exercises are easily learned and can help to deal with caregivers’ and careseekers stresses, physical and emotional pains, and old hurts.

Wholistic Spiritual Healing Research and Practice Lecture, with an experiential introduction to"WHEE" --a Hybrid of EMDR and Emotional Freedom Technique International College of Integrative Medicine, 37th International Congress Tampa, FL, March 9, 2002
Members of the public are increasingly turning to healing for help with problems for which conventional medicine has only partially successful treatments. An estimated 40,000 nurses practice Therapeutic Touch in America. Clinical research confirms that Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, and other healing practices are helpful in treating physical problems and can relieve pain, anxiety, and depression.
Daniel Benor, M.D. will briefly summarize this research and will consider in greater detail many ways in which healing can be combined with conventional medicinal and nursing practice to improve health care. Dr. Benor lived for ten years in England, where healers are invited by doctors to treat patients in clinics and hospitals, where some healers are paid under the National Health Service, and where Dr. Benor led workshops for doctors who received the equivalent of CME credits for developing their own healing gifts.

SPIRITUAL AWARENESS AND HEALING Experiential workshop Rye, New York, July 29, 2001
Most of us have had intuitive and spiritual awarenesses of something far vaster and wiser than ourselves. We may call it God, Buddha, Allah, Christ, the Goddess, or simply feel it as an Infinite Source of energy, love, or all-knowing, unconditionally accepting consciousness. This awareness might come during prayer or meditation, through communing with nature, in moments of ecstasy or of pain and dire distress. Words are inadequate to describe this "vast something."
Daniel Benor, MD will introduce various ways of discovering, exploring and deepening your connection with this Infinite Source through experiential exercises, including meditative awareness, self-healing meditations and exercises, and healing for others and for our planet.

Theories to explain healing will be suggested.
Spiritual Awareness and Healing in Psychotherapy Experiential workshop International Conference of Science and Consciousness Albuquerque, NM, April 21, 2001
This experiential workshop will introduce ways in which healing and spiritual awareness can facilitate the process of psychotherapy. "Healing" comes from an Old English/ Germanic word meaning "to make whole." Healing relaxations, meditations, imagery, and biological energy approaches will be introduced that can contribute to healing of body, emotions, mind, relationships, and spirit. Spiritual awarenesses that arise spontaneously and that can be developed through deliberate practices will be explored in discussion and experiential exercises. We will discuss how these methods can be applicable for personal use of participants and how they can be integrated with psychotherapy.
Distant Healing: The Human Energy System: External Qi Healing Clinical Observations, Research, Theories, Implications & Experiential Practice Experiential workshop with Qigong Master Ken Cohen and Dan Benor, MD Boulder, CO, May 17-19, 2001
Healing from a distance has been practiced in many traditions through the ages. Healers report that healing can be sent as mental intent, meditation, and/or prayer from any distance, even from continents away. Research confirms this is possible. The implications of non-local consciousness are profoundly important, suggesting that all of humanity is linked together in a collective consciousness that is unbounded. An experiential introduction to distant healing will be included.
Spiritual Awareness and Healing Integrated with Psychotherapy Experiential workshop 2001: An Energy Odyssey, First European Energy Psychology Conference, Lake Lucerne, Switzerland, July 5-8, 2001
The meridian based therapies (MBTs) access subtle energies in the body. These subtle energies connect with spiritual dimensions. Larry Dossey has called this "non-local mind." With proxy healing, the MBTs touch on this area.
Spiritual healing extends our access to dimensions that are informing, enriching, and expanding to our awareness and our lives. Extensive research (Near-Death Experiences, Out-of -Body Experiences, reincarnation research, and more) confirms that these dimensions exist, are deeply meaningful to clients, and can significantly enrich the therapeutic encounter. Spiritual healing can add many dimensions to psychotherapy and the combination is far more effective than either treatment alone.
Psychotherapy may raise issues that are difficult to deal with. Healing can substantially lessen anxieties very rapidly and potently, and ease the processing of painful emotions. Conversely, healing can bring about spontaneous emotional releases of long-buried traumas, helping them to surface much more rapidly and effortlessly than with psychotherapy alone. Psychotherapy helps to integrate these emotions, along with their associated traumatic memories, and to develop better ways of coping with stress.
This experiential workshop will briefly review research in spiritual awareness and healing and will introduce a variety of experiential ways in which personal spiritual awareness can be raised and nurtured in psychotherapy.
Proxy Healing and Spiritual Healing Keynote lecture 2001: An Energy Odyssey, First European Energy Psychology Conference, Lake Lucerne, Switzerland, July 7, 2001
Proxy healing is used in energy psychotherapy. In this approach, the therapist directs treatment mentally to someone other than the intended patient, with the intent that the effects should still be on that patient This is helpful when the patient is unable to see the therapist for direct treatment.
While this may seem unusual, there is a substantial body of research confirming that proxy healing is a valid and potent approach. Dr. Benor will review over 200 randomized controlled studies of spiritual healing -- in humans, animals, plants, bacteria, yeasts, enzymes, cells, and DNA -- of which 63 percent show significant effects.
Spiritual healing research suggests several new world views and scientific paradigms within which it may be possible to explain and understand proxy healing.
