    Research

Healing: Through the Lens of Intentionality
    Rothlyn P. Zahourek, PhD, PMHCNS-BC, AHN-BC
Understanding and studying healing is one of our challenges as health care providers. This study is a presentation of a secondary analysis of data collected to study intentionality in the context of healing. Six healers and six healees, five of each who participated as dyads, described their experiences and their concepts of healing. The theory, Intentionality: the Matrix for Healing (IMH), is presented, along with a more expanded definition of healing as an awareness of shift and a transformative process.

    Remarkable Recoveries

    Scleroderma: My Path to Healing
    Ellen Marie Schweickart
"There are several different types of Scleroderma. I was diagnosed with the most critical variation on this exquisite torture… By January, 2002… my skin was rock hard. I thought I could not move my fingers because of the swelling but I soon discovered my hands were frozen in a claw-like position because of my skin. This thickening progressed quite rapidly, moving from my hands up my forearms, and from my feet to my calves in just a few months. It then spread across my chest and into my stomach. Within a year’s time, it moved all the way up my legs and arms, my entire chest, and the most frightening of all for me, into my face.

This Scleroderma had spread from head to toe and I was completely disabled by 2003. I was unable to walk alone more than ten feet due to all the pain of stretching skin that did not want to bend because it had become rigid. Another part of the pain was caused by this generalized sclerosing (hardening) of tissues, which constricted and narrowed my veins and blood vessels. This process severely compromised my circulation.

Not long after it had spread across my chest and trunk, the sclerosis also had spread into my esophagus, which restricted me from eating solid or dense food."

Ellen managed to reverse her scleroderma, using EFT and a variety of other approaches. This is unheard of in conventional medicine.

Ellen has taught another woman with Scleroderma her methods. Katie's disease had advanced to the point that she was on dialysis. Katie's scleroderma has also been reversed.

A Journey of Healing from Crohn’s Disease Using Emotional Freedom Techniques
    Patsy Anthony-Green
I am 51 years of age, an elementary school teacher, a married mother to two teenage children, and an EFT practitioner. This is the history of my Crohn’s Disease, and my profoundly healing journey of body, mind and spirit.

A Journey of Healing with My Knee, Using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
    Patsy Anthony-Green
Patsy Anthony-Green also suffered from pains in her knee over several decades, following a ski injury. An MRI showed severe deterioration of the cartilage in that knee. Patsy also cured herself of pains in her knee using EFT.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for Traumatic Brain Injury
    Gary Craig, EFT Founder
Sally came to a San Francisco EFT activity in September of 2007 along with fourteen other people with significant physical or emotional issues. Six years previously, Sally had been involved in a serious automobile accident and was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Among her presenting symptoms was poor balance and the necessity to use a walking stick most of the time.

…Sally still has some confusion and general overwhelm in busy public environments but this is improved over when she first came to us.

    Living with Life Challenges

    Prescription: Humor
    Pam Lacko
I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage II B in February of 2008. I had a full hysterectomy and six chemotherapy treatments of combined Taxol and Carboplatin over the course of six months. I am in remission and continue to build back my physical strength through diet and exercise. I never lost my mental strength!

…At first I just cried, but as time went by, I decided that I would face this challenge with humor, one of my most comfortable personality traits. They don’t call me Wacko Lacko for nothing.

    Wholistic Approaches

Healing Humanity with Homeopathy: Homeopathy for Epidemics, Collective Trauma and Endemic Diseases
    Harry van der Zee, MD

Homeopathy has proven to be a potent and effective system for healing individuals because individualizing each case is the essence to its methodology. Homeopathy’s greatest asset, though, appears to be in individualizing treatments for larger totalities, such as epidemic diseases. There are impressive historic examples of such broader applications of homeopathy the 20th century. This article presents early, pilot explorations of these possibilities in today's world, extending homeopathic interventions to address endemic chronic diseases and collective psychological trauma as well as epidemic diseases. This approach would bring homeopathy into its fuller potentials and would allow use of the Law of Similars on which it is based to bring healing to ]the present crises produced by humanity that threaten the survival of all living organisms on our planet, and possibly the continued viability of our host planet as a home for life as we know it.
