Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more commonplace than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
- Calvin Coolidge
In times of change, learners inherit the Earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists. - Eric Hoffer
I am pretty good at persistence. - I had over 70 rejections from publishers before volume I of Healing Research was published. - I persisted in seeking ways to offer psychotherapy as a psychiatrist, as Managed Care whittled away the time that clients could have in therapy sessions. That's how WHEE was born - a rapid, potent self-healing technique - to help me maintain my own sanity as a psychotherapist, as well as to be able to help people help themselves and not just rely on medications to deal with problems.
I'm not too bad at changing, either - seeing patterns of behaviors and conditions and various options for making things better by recombining or shifing the way things are understood or done.
But it sure is challenging sometimes to know whether to persist or to change...
Our challenge is to find the balance between worlds of possibilities and options and choices.
Using my intuition has been helpful - with muscle testing. This is a window into the vast powers of the unconscious mind, higher self, collective consciousness and the Infinite Source.
