Our science is a drop, our ignorance a sea. William James
I would like to share with other members of the Network a recent development in my healing life.
In April of 199I was asked to give healing to 'Bella' a 14 month old child. She was only about half the normal body weight, showed no signs of speech and had floppy muscles which made it impossible for her to bear any weight on her legs or to crawl as infants do. She scooted about on her bottom in an odd fashion.
Letters from consultants concerning her condition were shared with me by her mother, [Editor's note: A review of two letters from lecturers in child health at the treating hospital confirms Ron Staley's summary. Bella had two admissions to hospital, in March and May 1991, with the diagnoses of 1. Failure to thrive; 2. Hypotonia (very weak muscle strength); 3. developmental delay; 4. Speech delay; and 5. Three episodes of cellulitis following infective eczema.]
On June 3rd, 1991 her mother, 'Karen', expressed concern to me that although the consultants had referred Bella for physiotherapy, the physiotherapists were unable to give her any form of helpful treatment. When they straightened Bella's legs to stretch her hamstring tendons she cried. The physiotherapists were of the opinion that Bella would be unlikely to walk before she reached at least five years old, if at all. The only thing they could do was to monitor her progress.
I therefore asked Karen if she would take on the role of "physiotherapist by proxy", which she agreed to do. I asked God to grant to Karen the power and skill of a physiotherapist in order to offer Bella treatment. Within a few seconds Karen knew herself to be in an altered state of consciousness and found herself being inspired what to do with her hands and body to offer to Bella a most remarkable form of physiotherapy. From that date onwards Bella has never looked back.. Many of the patients to whom I give healing spontaneously move their bodies in various ways to self correct their problems. They do this intuitively, without any instructions from me. In fact, I am often as surprised as they are at the contortions they perform.
Karen held Bella on her lap or across her thighs and manipulated her legs and torso in such ways as would appear to exercise the muscles which would strengthen her lower limbs and belly so that she could eventually walk. She also stretched Bella's legs and straightened them, with only mild protests from Bella the first few sessions she did this. The necessary exercises came to Karen intuitively, just as the movements for self healing come to the other patients I treat. After learning to do this in my healing sanctuary, Karen continued these treatments at home. She came to me weekly at first, then less often. No other medical treatment was given to Bella.
By June 27th one of the consultants was talking about a "significant improvement". The physiotherapist actually did not think it was the same child.
Grace can now walk, is beginning to talk, and her body weight is beginning to increase. Two weeks ago Karen walked Bella into the consultant's room on the occasion of a 6 monthly check and was discharged from follow up. None of the consultants involved have any knowledge of the healing which was fiven to Bella.
I have available a wealth of video material showing the therapy being administered by Karen. The same methods appear to be helping another foster mother to aid her 9 year old son who has severe spasticity and developmental delays.
Editor's notes: Bella was born in the end of February, 1990 by emergency caesarian section at 37 weeks due to fetal distress. Her birth weight was 2.44 kilograms. She had transient hypoglycaemia requiring tube feeding for her first two days of life, followed by cup and spoon for another day. Although breast fed thereafter until aged 5 months, she has always been a poor eater and never cried for food.
On 30 May 1991 she was reported to weigh 6 kilograms (1.8 kilos below the 3rd centile). Her length was 55.8 cm (3 cm below the 3rd centile), head circumference 43.8 cm (just under the 3rd centile). Her examination was normal except for hypotonia (lack of muscle strength). Her developmental quotients were at 58-77 percent of normal. She was extremely placid. Feedings could take up to two hours.
When seen at 15 months she did not demand food when hungry. She does not appear to cry when falling and bumping herself.
Her weight has consistently been below the 3rd centile. No gastrointestinal symptoms were noted which might account for her difficulties. She was reported to have had what appears to be a febrile convulsion.
On 27 June 1991 a consultant notes significant improvement, including more social responsiveness, sitting well, scooting along the floor, and babbling. She was still hypotonic and would not bear weight on her legs.

Queries:
I have heard anecdotal reports from many healers of unusual improvements with healing treatments (both laying-on-of-hands and absent treatments) in people with severe head and spinal trauma, prolonged coma, birth injuries, congenital bony deformities of the extremities (e.g. club foot), and other neurological disorders. I have heard reports of temporary, only minor improvements with Motor Neuron Disease (also called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gherig's Disease).
The DHNNL would welcome any reports which have medical confirmation directly from a doctor or hospital.
