Meditation (November 2007)
Radiant Peace Mary Ann Wallace, MD Sit in a comfortable position, with spine erect and comfortable. Focus for a few minutes on your breath; tracing the in breath and out breath in quiet watching awareness. Now become aware of a radiant beam of Light penetrating through the top of your head, its Source the Illuminated space of Wisdom and Truth. Observe and notice the sensations as this beam of light traverses and penetrates through your entire body. Offer no resistance, simply observe. Take your time. Now, again, focus on your breath, this time noticing its coming and going as if from a very still and preciously quiet place in the center of your heart. Notice. Quietly, now, allow the penetrating Light traversing your body to grow in volume, depth and magnitude in your heart. Begin to notice, on every out breath, a willing opening in your heart, allowing the Light to penetrate out into the world in all directions, to do that which it is called to do. Sit with this for as long as is comfortable. Before opening your eyes, make a quiet commitment and dedication to and for yourself; that your actions through the day will follow the path of peace defined by these rays of light you have channeled out through your heart.
