Meditation (Feb 2010)
Meditation from WHEE for Self-Healing
Take a few minutes
to center yourself. You might watch your breath go out and in, noting its
warmth on leaving and coolness on entering your nostrils; or you might center
yourself usings whatever other method works best for you.
Return in
your memory to a time when you were a child, engaged in interactions that have
left you with unhappy memories. Review what happened in detail, paying
particular attention to your feelings at the time.
When you
have connected solidly with your memory of your unhappiness or distress,
imagine to yourself that you, the person of today, are going into that memory
place. Invite your inner child to tell you what her or his feelings are. Picture
to yourself that you are saying and doing whatever you feel is helpful to comfort
your inner child.
Revisit your
childhood memory at your next meditation time. Note your inner child's
feelings. Repeat the comforting, with whatever variations feel appropriate.
You may do
this as many times as feels helpful.
Using WHEE
may facilitate this process, both for you and your inner child.
Blessings
