Meditation 1
Nourishment
It is suggested you read this meditation into a tape recorder, allow a friend to read it to you, or reread it a few times to commit the general flow to memory. Pauses are depicted by hyphens “------------“.
Rest comfortably in a chair, with spine straight. Imagine a thread supporting the top of your head so that you can relax in this pose. Gently settle down a little more deeply. It is as if grains of sand are settling, and you feel your body deepening down in connection with the earth.
--------------------------------------------------
Now become aware of your breath, allowing it to deepen, as well. With no effort, it seems as if the breath gains substance that is warm, full and with Presence. ----------- Allow this full breath to come in as deeply as you are comfortable.
-------------------------------------------------
And now become aware that every cell of your body tingles with life. With no effort on your part whatsoever, every cell is filled with life. -------------------------
Allow, now, the incoming full-bodied breath to bathe, nourish and bless every cell of your body. It is as if every cell is bathed in and relaxes in the warm, light-filled smiling breath.
-------------------------------------------
Rest here awhile, simply letting it be.
----------------------------------------------
When you feel ready, wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch your muscles, and become aware of yourself here and now, in this room, at this time.
